Carmella Crawford, MA

Hello! My name is Carmella Crawford, and I am trained in clinical mental health

therapy. I earned my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden

University. I have a diverse work history including early childhood education, addictions, and mental health. I specialize in trauma, depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and issues of self. I have experience working with youth/adolescents and young adults. I have trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and I am oriented toward rational emotive behavior therapy.

I view each person as a whole being. This deeper understanding of the whole self

can often lend itself to greater self-awareness, self-esteem, and self-acceptance. I

like to focus on the relationship between mind, body, and spirit, attempting to

understand and address the ways issues in one aspect of a person can lead to

concerns in other areas. My goal is to encourage you to overcome feelings of

insecurity and develop deeper feelings of connectedness. Through respectful

dialogue, we will work to correct mistaken assumptions, attitudes, behaviors and

feelings about yourself and the world. 

In my work as a preschool teacher I learned to love children and value their unique placement in the world. I am also excited to work with your child and your family to understand your childs emotions and behaviors and build healthy patterns.

I understand it is a big step to seek therapy and I commend you for taking the first

step towards a better you. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from

childhood and adolescence through adulthood. Mental health includes our

emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and

act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make
