Hello, my name is Ebony Johnson, Welcome! I am a Graduate of Walden University and hold a Masters degree in Social Work. I was born and raised in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood of Chicago and have spent a lifetime navigating with the many stressors and traumatic experiences being from the West and South sides of Chicago can bring. Through my experiences I have learned a deeper level of compassion for inner city youth, men and women and anyone impacted by neighborhood violence, teen pregnancy, family issues and relationship issues.
I have an extensive background in working in social service agencies serving the most vulnerable populations and assisting them in navigating their experiences and formulating a more positive and healed way of thinking and being. I work best with teens, young adults, millennials and older adults who are experiencing; depression, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, chronic stress, community violence, grief and loss and parenting.
I believe that most people have the strength to overcome life stressors and recognize their strengths with the support of therapeutic interventions. I specialize in integrating; cognitive-behavioral therapy, play therapy, mindfulness training, motivational interviewing, strength-based/solution-focused, trauma-focused in the work that I do with clients to assist them on their healing journey.
I welcome the opportunity to walk with you through this healing journey and help you Heal, Rise & Soar!
