We Are Currently Accepting New Clients in The State of Illinois.
Hello! Welcome to this space! My name is Dr. Gilliard, I have years of clinical work experience and advocacy experience and exude a strong passion for working with underserved populations through a trauma-focused lens. From inpatient psychiatric facilities to PHP/IOP settings, I specialize in depression/mood disorders, trauma-informed care, severe mental illness, and a variety of other presenting concerns. I offer a vulnerable, safe space that empowers clients to establish autonomy over their mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being. Instilling validation, compassion, hope, and empathy in client narratives are key factors within her clinical practice. As an experienced clinician, I am dedicated to working from a collaborative approach with clients to create positive changes in their lives.
ALTERNATIVE EXPERIENCE
My clinical practice has been supplemented through counseling, research, supervision, and teaching. My primary area of research and treatment specifically focuses on childhood sexual abuse (CSA) within African American communities and families. I am also an adjunct professor at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology teaching master's students in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and Counseling Psychology program. I work with individuals, their families, and couples to resolve conflicts within the family system. The most recent rewarding part of my professional life was obtaining my Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
I look forward to working with you and your family to work towards a life in which you can Heal, Rise and Soar!
