We Are Currently Accepting New Clients in The State of Illinois.
Welcome and Bienvenidos! My name is Viviana Ramirez, and I am a Licensed Professional and National Board-Certified Counselor (NCC). I am a graduate of Northwestern University with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Indiana University.
As a Latina and woman of color in mental health, I hope to bring more visibility to BIPOC communities and their mental health needs. I have experience working with children as young as 5 years old, adolescents, and adults with concerns related to trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, and relational conflicts. Providing care and support to our city’s youth and families is especially important to me as a Chicago native.
Although I predominantly practice through a psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and person-centered lens, I also believe in utilizing an eclectic and integrative approach to therapy, incorporating a variety of theoretical orientations and treatment modalities. I recognize that everyone’s needs are different, and I want to honor the unique experiences and identities clients and their families bring to therapy. I strive to provide a non-judgmental and affirming environment for clients to feel comfortable in their emotional expression and vulnerability.
As a therapist, I strive to act as an advocate and ally to people from all backgrounds, religions, sexual orientations, and gender identities. I emphasize a multicultural, anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and socially just therapeutic setting. My goal is to create a safe space for you in a world that may not always do so. For so many, asking for extra support is never easy but I applaud you for coming this far and look forward to helping you in your journey to Heal, Rise, and Soar!
